Glad you liked it.

Dead Space was great, I need to get it back off my friend and go through it again... In a well lit room.

On a linked topic I just tried Silent Hill Shattered Memories. It is creepy, but the section I played was a tad irritating as I had to spend most of my time running away. Nice noise effects on screen mean that the graphics are very effective.

I remember specifically Doom 3 for making me jump, the Imp's wouldn't just hide around corners they would break through walls and scare the bejesus out of me!

Interesting article, and you're right about leaving things to the imagination : *( The innate human fear of the unknown can really drive ya some times, its why SH2 scared the **** out of me. Surrounded by fog, don't know what's 30 feet in front of you, what might jump out next...

Excellent article, Alex - makes me want to pick Dead Space up again, as I only managed to get about 1/4 of the way through and then crapped myself...it's like realising the monsters under your bed aren't real...or are they?! Wooooo!!! :)

Excellent article and it really got me thinking. I absolutely love Dead Space, but you are very right in saying that I'm not *scared* of it in the same way I was in the ol' Silent Hill games. Having said that, SH4: The Room did freak me out slightly. Homecoming, however, did not.

You've also given me an idea for a Halloween-themed article, thanks Alex!
