i’m a gamer girlfriend. playing games together DOES equal quality time for me, haha. more recently i have gotten my boyfriend into Oblivion. the downside: he’s soo into it i never get a chance to play my game. but still better than having to see and hear COD: WoW all day!

Loved the article! I’ve been married to a fellow gamer for more than 20 years; when we met, I played RPGs and he was a wargamer; we both discovered Eurogames and other strategic boardgames together and it has been fantastic. We spent our honeymoon at a gaming con in Baltimore, Maryland, and most of our vacations since have been gaming-related. And needless to say, we do buy each other games for birthdays and Christmas — usually games we both want to play.

So when I hear guys complain about their girlfriends or wives who don’t game, my first thought is “Why did you get together with her in the first place — there are lots of terrific women gamers around!”

DragonWyrd: I suffer from gaming mojo burnout about once a year. It’s happened to me for the last 3yrs and is a horrible experience! Thankfully my gamer lets me game how I want, but I can imagine that someone attached to your hip wouldn’t be fun at all! Glad you like the article though :]
