Valve plans to sell L4D2 Mods on 360

Valve wants to sell us user-created mods on Left 4 Dead 2, with all the money made going back to the creators of that particular mod.

“We’ll have to filter them, we can’t allow any copyrighted materials, so it’s going to have to go through a process. But we’re hoping perhaps we can shepherd the really popular campaigns onto 360. And you know, if they are a paid system, perhaps that could go back to the authors. I think that would be a great story.”

So, shmucks like you and me make these mods, Valve release them as if they’re DLC and we get all the credit and the money? I’m down with that.

If this goes ahead, I doubt we’ll be seeing good old Shaun running around, or even a naked Zoe, but all the ingredients are in there for some crazy yet originate ideas.

Microsoft Explains why Ruffian will take over Crackdown II

If you’re like me, and always jump the gun about another Developer taking over a game that was a success, then you would have raised an eyebrow and sighed in pity when you found out that Microsoft handed Crackdown over to the fresh company, Ruffian Games.

Well Microsoft have have backed up their plans, and reading the big picture you will realize there is still hope, and what a great hope it is.

Apparently, it would seem Mr. Spencer believes Realtime Worlds is simply too busy developing APB to give a Crackdown sequel the attention it deserves. “I wanted to make sure that anything we work on is correctly nurtured … we had to find the right team who really understood what game it is – and that was Billy [Thompson] and the team at Ruffian.” Crackdown 2 Ruffian Games since the studio’s inception late last year. will be the first game developed by Ruffian Games since the studio’s inception late last year.

My mind is at rest, finally.

For those who tried the demo of EA Sports’ Fight Night Round 4 and didn’t like the tricky stick-punching, but loved the game, well, if you are one of the very select few decided not to get it because of it, then I have some news that you’ll be fluttering your eyelashes.

The new FNR4 Demo includes two new (well, legendary) boxers for you to stick you teeth into (no Mike Tyson joke intended), you can play as either Mike Tyson or Muhammad Ali, and try out the new button-punch.

The can download the demo off the XBL Marketplace or from your Xbox 360 Dashboard.

Sam Fisher’s legendary NVG’s return

I think it’s honestly fair to say, we can all breath a sigh of relief as our Agent, no not 007, but Sam Fisher will return with his famous night vision goggles.

So not only do we actually get to hurt people, we get to look cool doing it.. in the dark, seeing them through walls, stalking them like the professionals we are.

“To prove it, he showed a very brief video clip (which we were not allowed to film) of Fisher in action, green-tinted goggles firmly affixed to his head. The clip showed Fisher creeping toward a building across an outdoor area and taking cover behind a crate. Then, the familiar high-pitched whine of the night-vision goggles snapped on, and the scene turned to a washed-out semi-wireframe view. And with that, the clip was over. Just enough for Ubisoft to prove that Fisher still has access to the gadget that helped define the series.

And to whet your appetite to this game a little bit more.

“Another classic Splinter Cell gadget, the sticky camera, is also back in Conviction, and Ubisoft showed a clip of that as well.
