Alan Wake “Most Likely” Won’t Get a Demo

Only a day after it was announced that Crackdown 2 will be getting a demo we find out that another sadly won’t. Well, it’s unlikely anyway.

The game in question is Alan Wake, a game that has been teasing us for years now but only has a few months left until release. Unfortunately we won’t be able to get a taste of the game before release; so we’ll have to purchase the retail release to find out if it’s a tasty meal or one for the bin behind a fancy but unsatisfying restaurant. I hope it’s the former!

The CFO of Remedy, Mika Reini, says there will “most likely not” be a demo, so you will just have to trust yourself and whatever the reviews are like for the game. Not that a demo is always the best representation of the full game, but it surely puts you off if the demo is bad. So, maybe it’s a good thing? We’ll see.

On a happier note Reini did say that Spring is “definitely” the release window for Alan Wake, and that they also have a “specific date” that they will announce in the future.

Crackdown 2 To Get a Demo

Ruffian, the developer of Crackdown 2, has assured gamers that the game will get a pre-release demo.

James Cope, producer of the game, spoke to IGN about the possibility of a demo, confirming that there will be one but declining to say when we can expect to see it on Xbox Live.

“You can definitely expect a demo to hit Live before the game is out but I can’t say when that will be… yet,” said Cope.

“The Crackdown demo was fantastic and we want to carry on in that form.”

If you played the first Crackdown then you should know how hilariously fun the game can be when playing with a friend, so us fans won’t really need a demo if it’s more of the same with added goodness on top. Of course, that is the case as the game now has a fully fledged multiplayer mode that can support up to sixteen players, as well as four-player co-op for the main story mode.

Crackdown 2 has no firm release date, but Ruffian is aiming for a Q1/Q2 2010 release for Xbox 360.

Army of Two: The 40th Day Demo Lands This Week

A demo of upcoming Army of Two: The 40th Day will be hitting PSN and Xbox Live this week, 17th December to be exact.

The demo will contain the majority of the game’s first level, with Salem and Rios shooting their way through Shanghai. Explosions, badda-boom and all that crap.

I’m looking forward to checking this one out, even though I haven’t got around to completing the first game yet (I blame my brother for never having the time for it). The trailer here certainly makes it look like more of the same fun that made the first one such a joy to play in co-op.
