FIFA 10 “Beating the Heck” Out of PES

The boss of EA for Europe,  Jens Uwe Intat today claimed that FIFA 10 was the far superior football (soccer) game in Europe last year.

He claimed that FIFA “beat the heck out of Pro Evo”, saying that FIFA had taken 75% of all football game sales across Europe. Apparently it was “neck and neck with Modern Warfare 2  to be the best-selling game across Europe [in 2009]“.

While I’m sure as usual they have used some kind of manipulated data and figures to turn this to their advantage, it is quite clear that FIFA 10 was far more popular than PES 2010. Just from being around people who play games, the majority of people this time opted for FIFA (including me, previously a PES loyalist).

Definitely worrying news for Konami…

Rooney changes Gamertag

Everybody’s favourite cartoon football player has had to change his gamertag.

“My Gamertag name used to be Wazza10 but I had to change it when too many people found out it really was me,” Rooney told The Metro.

Yes, I know, but it’s a slow news day, OK?

Fifa 10 demo September 10th

EA has released news surrounding the Fifa 10 demo, it will be available on September 10th on both Xbox Live Marketplace and Playstation Network.  Untill then your just going to have to live with Fifa 9 and Match of the Day.
